Gaining access to this state-of-the-art system all starts when you plug in your iPhone® through a USB port. Once you do, the touchscreen within the center stack completely transforms to show you a display that looks similar to the one you see on your smartphone. Many features can be controlled with buttons already found in your car, or with a simple tap of the screen. However, there is also Siri® voice control so your hands can stay safely on the wheel.

Your favorite apps have been completely reimagined so they can be used without taking your eyes off the road. For starters, when embarking on a road trip, or just a destination you haven’t been before, utilize Apple Maps. Just enter in the address of where you are headed on your phone, and the route you choose will be shown right on the touchscreen display. You’ll be able to see turn-by-turn directions as well as traffic patterns, just like you would if you were to only use your iPhone®. To keep in touch with loved ones on the go, Nissan Apple CarPlay™1 in New Jersey also shows the Phone app. Just ask Siri® to make a call, return a missed call, or listen to a voicemail. Similarly, text messaging is now made safe, easy, and hands-free. When you receive an incoming text, the name of the sender will appear at the top of the screen, just like it would on your phone. Siri® can then read the text out loud, and even ask if you’d like to reply. If you receive an audio message as a text, Siri® can play that for you, too.

It’s also easy to get in touch with your favorite playlists using the Music app. You’ll be able to access iTunes, as well as your Apple Music membership. Or, if you have a specific song in mind, just tell Siri® what you’d like to hear. You’ll be able to see album art within your library, start a new shuffle, and so much more. You can even use various music apps installed on your iPhone®, like Pandora®, Spotify, and iHeartRadio.
